Douvan returns from a 569-day absence in the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase at Clonmel on Thursday.

The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old was last seen chasing home stablemate Un De Sceaux in the Boylesports Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival in April 2018.

He had fallen at Cheltenham the previous month in the Queen Mother Champion Chase on his return from a year off.

Prior to that he had won 14 races in a row on his way to being sent off the 2/9 favourite for the 2017 Champion Chase, in which he finished seventh behind Special Tiara after finishing lame.

Douvan will be ridden by Paul Townend and he faces four rivals including Henry de Bromhead's Monalee who was last seen being pulled up in the Coral Punchestown Gold Cup.

Jessica Harrington's Jett, Noel Meade's Tout Est Permis and Peter Fahey's Peregrine Run complete the field.
