Drama to conclude but Memphis on top

Miles To Memphis attracted market support earlier in the day, and backed from 9/1 into 8/1 on track he delivered for his supporters in the finale, the Leopardstown Summer Pass (Q.R.) Maiden. That's only part of the story though. Constancio was still in front when he seemed to strike off the rail and get unbalanced over a furlong out. He soon crashed out in a nasty incident but thankfully James Dowling and the Authorized gelding seemed none the worse afterwards.

In the Jules Sigler silks Lisa O'Neill was soon left in front on Miles To Memphis, and the National Hunt eight-year-old galloped on for a six length win over Magna Cartor

"I'm so happy for that horse as he's the most genuine horse I know," said Denise 'Sneezy' Foster, the winning trainer.

"He loves to gallop but hates to jump. Even though he's a bad jumper he won a hurdle as he gets over them.

"I said I'd love to try him on the Flat as he travels so well and stays and he won two bumpers easily. There was no suitable hurdles so we said we'd give it a go and I'm very happy."

Mr J.P. Dowling, rider of Constancio, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards that his mount ducked through the rails of his own accord and unseated him.

Mr S. Cavanagh, rider of Lucky Pat trained by Mrs D.A.Love, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount changed his legs a few times in the back straight and stopped quickly in the home straight.
