Duffle Coat made it two from two with victory in the gowranpark.ie 3YO Hurdle.

He went off a prohibitive 1/6 favourite due to his stablemate Quilixios being ruled out.

The ‘jolly’ tracked Little Brother before picking him off after the second last. He wasn’t fluent at the last but merely had to be pushed out to score by three lengths from Made In Pimlico (50/1) who kept on for second.

Jack Kennedy said they didn't go very quick and it didn't suit him,” said Gordon Elliott.

“He said a faster gallop would have suited him but I told him just to follow the other horse and not take it up.

“I think a better race will suit him. He just does what he has to at home but is after winning by a few lengths at the line there.

“It turned into a sprint but from the last to the line he was good. He's winning and that's all that matters.

“There is a winners of two at Punchestown and at Down Royal. We might even think of Wetherby as there is a Listed race there.”
