The Mediator (1/3 fav) rounded off a good day at Down Royal for Gordon Elliott with an eight length victory in the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Flat Race.

The Maxios gelding sat second under Jamie Codd and came through to lead two furlongs out. He raced away from Rhodia (28/1) to give Elliott his third odds-on winner of the afternoon after Hollow Games and Zanahiyr

Paddy Power cut The Mediator from 33/1 to 20/1 for the Champion Bumper.

"He's a horse for next year really," said Elliott.

"I had him in the Land Rover bumper last year and at the time a few horses weren't flying so we decided to pull the plug on that run. He's a nice horse and one for the future.

"I'd say so (remain in bumpers this season)."

Regarding his treble, he added: "Three winners, I love coming to Down Royal. Great people and great sponsors."
