The Peter Fahey trained Rathmuck Native (4/5f) gained an overdue maiden win in the Chestnut Inn Ballygowan Bumper at Downpatrick today, winning under David Mullins.

The daughter of Definite Article boasted form figures of '33223' coming into today's race but finally got her head in front where it matters most. She pulled her way to the front from halfway but in the end kept going to hold the challenge of Miss North Light by two and a half lengths.

Afterwards Fahey stated “she's a nice filly and Peter (Fahey) obviously has done well with her as she has been running fairly consistently.”

The in form amateur added “hopefully I'll be busy over the winter riding for dad (trainer Thomas Mullins) and others.”
