Fire Fly made the breakthrough on her fourth start, as she got the better of market rival Tarnawa in the Camas Park Stud Irish EBF Fillies Maiden.

Second on her most recent outing at Leopardstown, the Aidan O'Brien trained victor was sent off at 15/8 (from 9/4) with Donnacha O'Brien in the saddle.

Settled behind the leaders on the outer, the daughter of Galileo took closer order from over two furlongs out.

She was pushed along to lead over a furlong from home, and kept on well from there to see off the 11/10 favourite Tarnawa by a neck.

Aidan O'Brien also saddle the third horse home, and that was Credenza (16/1), who was another three and a half lengths back with Seamie Heffernan aboard.

The winning trainer said afterwards: "She has progressed with every run and just got caught the last day. She travels well and the second is a good filly I'd say and it was a good run.

"She'll step into a stakes race now."
