Shane Foley got Soaring Sky up late on to land the spoils in the median sire series maiden at Dundalk.

The Jessica Harrington-trained filly had been fourth in a barrier trial on the all-weather last month but was easy to back on her official debut, going to post an 18/1 shot.

She was pushed along to challenge a furlong-and-a-half out and drifted left across the eventual fourth Always Waitin

The Free Eagle filly soon disputed with Zozimus and the pair battled it out inside the final furlong.

Despite running a touch greenly Soaring Sky stuck her head out at the line to secure a short-head win over the 2/1 favourite.

Foley said :- “She was very good and very tough. I haven’t ridden her for a while and Conor (Hoban) liked her the other morning.

“She’s come out and she’s done that well. She was very green when she got to the front but she toughed it out well.”

The win moved Foley to within six of title leader Colin Keane.
