In a race of ever-changing fortunes at the business end, Emphatic Answer passed the post first in the Irish Examiner Handicap at Killarney to bring up four winners on the day for Joseph O'Brien. Supershock attempted to make the best way home but was caught by Vocito inside the final furlong. He didn't hold the lead for long, though, as Emphatic Answer rocketed home to grab him in the closing stages.

The 7/1 shot won by half a length from Prince Of Peace (11/2), another strong-finisher. Vocito (7/2 joint favourite) was a neck back in third.

Shane Crosse, who was riding a double at Killarney, said: "The horses are hitting top form which is great. This filly was a bit big at two and has grown into herself and did it well today.

"We thought she might have needed the run today but she goes on that surface and really enjoyed it. She could get a little further but a mile seems good at the moment."

Crosse was also on Bright Idea (5/6f) at Killarney for O'Brien and the trainer enjoyed success with Max Mayhem (4/6f) and Vultan (5/1) in Roscommon. The quad paid 145.67/1.
