Sizing Solution landed a gamble as he ran out an easy winner of the Robinson Services Handicap Chase, scoring under Jonathan Burke for Jim Dreaper and owners Ann and Alan Potts.

The six-year-old son of King’s Theatre was available at 4/1 last night but that price was gone this morning and he opened on-course at just 7/4 before going off the clear 11/8 favourite.

Placed on his six racecourse starts over fences he made his debut in handicap company this afternoon.

Sent straight into the lead he made all and jumped well throughout, stretching clear approaching the second last before keeping on well on the run-in to score easily by six lengths. Pires kept on to take second under Shane Shortall for Tony Martin at 8/1 while He’s Our Man was a half a length back in third under Davy Russell for Ross O’Sullivan at 10/1.

Jim Dreaper said afterwards: "Well he had almost the bottom weight and has been very consistent, placed nearly every time over fences I think. He won his point-to-points and his hurdle.

"I'd say most horses would go on that ground. It's nearly perfect jumping ground. He had quite an engine, for today anyway! I'd say that would be it for him, he's been in all year and he's a summer horse. He's not even clipped yet."
