Apprentice jockey Alan Glynn made his third mount for Jessica Harrington a winning one on Sweet Dime (33/1) in the Lengthen The Odds With BetVictor Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.

Galway native Glynn rides out one day a week at Commonstown and this was smooth for the youngster as the Toronado filly seemed to really enjoy the polytrack.

That shouldn’t have been all that surprising seeing as Sweet Dime finished second here on her only previous visit, as a two-year-old in October 2018.

Tom Madden was on Building Bridges (16/1) for Harringtons but that fellow could manage only sixth.

Meanwhile up front Sweet Dime accounted for favourite Grandmaster Flash (7/2 into 5/2) and Gougane Barra by a length and a quarter and half a length.

“That’s my third winner so my claim is down to 7lb now which is great," said Glynn.

“I ride out in Mrs Harrington’s every Wednesday morning and I’ve learned so much from riding two-year-olds there every week.

“I got a lovely lead off Oisin (Orr on Effernock Fizz and it all worked out. We didn’t go quick, she was saving herself and she finished out well.”

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Buzz Killington trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing while being examined post race, probably as a result of kickback.
