An early start at the Curragh today for their season finale with the first of eight races off at 12.40pm.

The ground is soft, yielding to soft in places on the straight course and yielding to soft on the round course with a mainly dry day in store and the far side track in use.

Michael O'Callaghan's Purple Dawn would have been favourite for the nursery at 1.45 but has been sold since winning at Dundalk on Friday and misses the engagement.

The ground at Clonmel (Thursday) is good to yielding on the chase track and yielding on the hurdle track. Today is set to be mainly dry with widespread heavy rain Wednesday into Thursday (up to 20mm approx).

For the two-day fixture at Down Royal on Friday and Saturday, the ground is currently yielding, yielding to soft in places.

Up to 13mm (approx.) of rain is forecast for tomorrow with scattered showers thereafter.
