Goodnightgodbless stormed home after the last in the Sigmar Recruitment Handicap Hurdle at Roscommon to bring up jockey Darragh O'Keefe's double.

The six-year-old mare looked to have plenty on her plate after the third last in this three miler, but made relentless headway on the inner to get on terms at the final flight.

She then powered away on the run-in to score by eight lengths at 5/1. Bridge Native took the runner-up berth at 12/1 with Tricky Trix (16/1) and Payngo (12/1) in third and fourth respectively.

Trainer James Motherway said: “She was just beaten by the bob of a head the last day in Wexford and got her just reward today.

“She missed a couple of weeks after Wexford as she got a nasty cut on her knee so that’s why we were so long getting her back on the track.

“Darragh was brilliant on her and gave her a super ride. I told him she might be caught for a bit of toe early doors but she stays well.

“She seems to be a stronger filly this year, and last year she was a bit immature. We’ll see what’s coming up in the next couple of weeks and pick something out.”
