Gopsies Daughter asserted in the closing stages to run out a convincing winner of the five furlong handicap at Navan.

The Denis Hogan-trained filly had been runner-up on her last two outings and made no mistake today.

Killian Leonard drove his mount into the lead passing the furlong marker and she was pulling away going to the line as she recorded a two-and-three-quarter length success over Red All Star

The 6/1 winner was recording her second career victory having scored at the Curragh in May 2017.

Leonard said:- “She’s been knocking on the door the last two runs. I rode her in Dundalk and she didn’t like the track but I told Denis a straight five or six with cut in the ground would suit her.

“It’s well watered out there so she loved that and a stiff five as well. She’s in again on Wednesday and I’d let her take her chance. She’s in the form of her life.

“Denis is a good operator and I go down to him a day a week. He tries to give me as much as he can.”
