Gurtacrue takes bumper at Listowel

Gurtacrue ran out a convincing winner of the concluding bumper at Listowel under a positive ride from Mikey Fogarty.

The Donal Coffey-trained gelding hit the front before the turn and kept on strongly down the straight. Regal Ambition gave chase but could only get within three-lengths of the winner.

"Some day this horse might carry somebody else's colours to win the Grand National!" said Coffey.

Barry O'Neill reported after the race that 15/8 favourite Lively Lass never travelled and gurgled in running.
