James Motherway's Dinny Lacey enjoyed a wide-margin success in the extended two mile one rated novice chase at Limerick.

He headed The Priests Leap after six out and a lovely jump at the third last saw him increase the lead.

Another good effort at the penultimate fence enabled Mikey Hamill to go for home.

He nodded upon landing over the last but was well in charge as he strode in by eight lengths at 5/1. Stormy Judge attracted some market support and got up for second at 12/1 by a short head from 5/2 favourite Ujumpthelastuwin

Hamill said: "James is in Leopardstown and that's my first ride for (owners) Robcour.

"I started out working for James and spent two years with him before going to England.

"James gave me my first rides and when I came back from England I went back riding out for him on Mondays. That's my first winner for him and I'm delighted.

"He (Dinny Lacey) is a lovely horse and did that very easy. He jumped and travelled on that ground and I'd say he is above average. He has scope and has everything about him."
