The Jessica Harrington trainer Calling Time made a winning handicap debut in the Christmas Parties Apprentice Nursery at Dundalk this evening when causing a 25/1 upset under jockey Tom Madden.

The Ronchalon Racing Partnership owned daughter of Camelot beat just five horses in three previous three maiden races but today made use of her 53 handicap rating when comfortably beating runner-up King's Vow by two and three parts of a length.

Afterwards jockey Madden stated “it was her first time over a mile and she liked it on her first time up here. She moved good and travelled super.

“I had a bad draw but it probably suited as she’s small. I got a great run around and she quickened up nicely and stayed at it well.

“I’d imagine she could come back here but it’s all up to Jessie. I only steer the ship and she tells us where to go!

“Things are going well, I’ve plenty of rides and a few winners up here is keeping me going for the winter.”
