Jessica Harrington was pleased with the Irish debut effort of Gin On Lime in the Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse yesterday.

The French-import finished fourth in the Grade 3 contest behind Minella Melody and her trainer expects plenty of improvement from the four-year-old.

The daughter of Doctor Dino was having just her second career start on Saturday having won on her sole outing in her homeland last July.

Harrington said:- “I was delighted with her. When she won in France she won very easily and I wouldn't think she even had a race so I'd say that was like a first race for her. I'd say she's never gone so fast in her life.

“She was on it (the bridle) early but not badly so and Sean (O'Keeffe) thought turning in she might start walking but fair dues to her she stayed going and after the last she quickened up well.”
