High Altitude and his trainer John Murphy have better records than most at Killarney and the gelding today completed a hat-trick of annual August festival wins in the Irish Examiner Rated Race.

The son of Papal Bull was today steered by Dylan Browne McMonagle to a length and a half win over Insignia Of Rank to gain his fourth course and (mile) distance win.

Two of High Altitude's previous Killarney wins were gained on similar dates August 22, 2018 and August 21 2019, while today's win improved Murphy's €1 level stake profit to €103.75, with 35 wins from 264 flat runners at the Kerry venue.

Murphy's son and assistant George Murphy later stated “he is as honest a horse as you'd ever find and while the ground might be a little bit gluey for him, he battled out well and tries very hard.

“That's his fourth win here and he loves it here; the ground wasn't ideal for him at Gowran and seven furlongs is a bit sharp for him as he is getting older.”
