Well Why Not has struck form with a vengeance and supplemented her Navan win with another success at Roscommon.

The grey filly contested the three-year-old handicap over an extended mile and a quarter.

She ran the bend in third for Chris Hayes in pursuit of For Pleasure and Zeb City

She then came under the whip two furlongs out and improved to challenge For Pleasure approaching the final furlong.

The lead was grabbed passing the furlong pole and she stuck to her guns well despite For Pleasure battling away on her inside.

The 10/1 shot won by a length from the runner-up who was an 11/4 joint favourite. Zeb City came in third at 25/1, some four and a half lengths further adrift.

"Chris said the ground is the key to her. He said if it comes up good during the summer put her away and keep her for the backend,” trainer Adrian McAllister said.

“We might go for a couple of the nice fillies handicaps. She's improving every run. She was put up 16lb for her last win so it will be interesting to see what she gets after that.

“If it stays soft we'll keep at it. We'll see what the weather is like.”
