Ground Invasion a three-time winner between the flags this year, made an impressive debut under rules in the p2p.ie (C&G) Point-To-Point INH Flat Race at Tipperary.

Trained by Stuart Crawford, who was also on the mark earlier today when Man With Van won over fences at Perth, the five-year-old gelding was ridden by his brother Steven.

He kept a wide berth throughout, and the 6/1 chance took control early in the straight before drawing right away to score by over seven lengths. Fiddlers Bow the 3/1 favourite, took the runner-up spot with Spancil Hill a further three and a half lengths away in third.

Steven Crawford said, “He probably was the best horse in the race but I walked the track beforehand and the outside part near the ambulance track was much faster and made a massive difference.

“The syndicate will have to decide but he might be for sale. He’s obviously very decent and there were ten last time out winners in the race but he won decisively.”
