Galway Hurdle-fourth Jesse Evans (1/3f) ticked off a flat maiden win at Navan today, landing the Flower Hill Maiden for local trainer Noel Meade and Champion Jockey Colin Keane.

The son of So You Think was amateur jockey Mark O'Hare's final ride when winning a Listowel bumper in September 2020 and having since won a maiden hurdle and handicap hurdle, today added a flat win to the haul, beating runner-up Ardla by two lengths.

It was Keane's 135th win in a record-breaking season and following the race trainer Meade reported “I don’t think he did an awful lot when he got to the front but that’s him. He’s better when he has a strong gallop to run at, the faster they go the better he is.

“He may run in the Naas November Handicap (on October 31) and if he didn’t go there then he could go for the handicap hurdle in Fairyhouse at the end of November.

“It’s a big pot in Naas and a race that he should have a chance in providing he’s fine after this.”
