A fine leap at the last sealed things for Jett as he justified his short price in the opening rated chase at Thurles this afternoon.

Jessica Harrington 's charge was sent to post the 11/10 favourite for the two-mile two contest having been as big as 2/1 this morning.

Robbie Power tracked the leaders on the Flemensfirth gelding before sending him to the front over the third last. Goulane Chosen threw down a strong challenge from the penultimate fence but a mistake at the last gave the advantage to Jett.

The market leader kept on well in the closing stages to record a four-and-a-quarter length victory.

The winner was dropping back in trip having been well held in a competitive handicap over two-miles five at the Dublin racing festival last time out.

"He deserved that as he had been running in Graded company and in a handicap the last day he fought the whole way and wouldn't drop the bit,” said Harrington.

“Today when I saw the entries, I knew there'd be good pace and it suited and he jumped super.

"He'll be much better on better ground and will go 2m5f as well. We have a couple of options and he is in the 2m4f novice handicap at Cheltenham but it depends on whether the handicapper moves him or not. He'd be fine if he didn't move him at all."
