Gordon Elliott bagged 20 winners in July, including his first Galway Plate, and has made a good start to August as this year’s Gold Cup winner completed a double, along with jockey Jack Kennedy, at Downpatrick today, with Wrath Of Titans in the Download The Toals App Rated Hurdle.

The pair were earlier successful with Miro in the maiden hurdle, and on Wrath Of Titans, Kennedy again displayed great ability to judge pace. The 17 year old had held up the Gigginstown House Stud owned runner well behind the leaders before eventually moving through the gears to edge past Powersbomb late on the run-in, for a half length win.

Elliott, recording his fourth winner of the week, later stated “Jack gave him a good ride - the trip was very short for him but he stayed galloping the whole way.”

Wrath Of Titans is a half brother to Irish Grand National winner Thunder And Roses and Elliott added “we’ll have a look at something in Listowel and if he snuck into a Kerry National at the bottom, we would have a rattle at that."
