King Of Aran secured his third victory at Downpatrick this evening at the rewarding odds of 14/1.

The 11-year-old gelding made headway and challenged before the last. He readily drew clear on the run-in to score by six lengths. He was very easy to back from 5/1 in the morning. Crown Of Thorns the 11/10 favourite, chased him home. He got up for second near the line by a neck from 50/1 chance Folly Dat

Jockey Danny Mullins said: "He acts very well around here. He had a good run on the flat the last day. Michael (Grassick) is a very sharp trainer and I knew I was coming here with a chance."
