The Gavin Cromwell-trained Limerick Lace powered clear from the last to run an easy winner of the rated novice chase at Down Royal.

The Walk In The Park mare settled behind the leaders early on before taking closer order in second at halfway in the two-miler.

She jumped up to join Irish Blaze at the second last and was asked to assert, by Luke Dempsey, running down to the last fence.

The 8/11 favourite quickened away on the run-in to post a cosy eight-length victory.

It was her third start over fences and she had chased home Drumbear at Limerick on her previous outing.

Cromwell said: "I'm pleased with that and it is grand to get her to win one.

"I'm not sure where we go from here to be honest. I suppose you would love to pick up a bit of black-type along the way.

"Yes, potentially (a nice handicap in her) and she will stay further."
