A course and distance winner here in October 2018, Reverberation justified 7/2 favouritism in the Winter Series Awards Day Saturday 4th April Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.

A very well backed market leader, the James Lambe-trained and Gavin Ryan-ridden Reverberation got the better of Tyrconnell by a short head, with five lengths back to the third, Voyageofdiscovery

The winner led, but was headed after two furlongs. He led again early in the straight, and was ridden under two furlongs out. Edging right and strongly pressed inside the final furlong, Reverberation kept on well to hold on.

Ryan very deftly stayed on his feet after being unseated from the Excelebration gelding on the way back to the parade ring after the mile event.

“It's great to get it. He was third here on his last visit, I sent him to Newcastle but we were disappointed and I think the straight mile is tough there,” said Lambe.

“Left-handed and two turns here suited. Gavin gave him a great ride, he was drifting across the track and nearly threw it away.

“It's good to get it in these difficult times and let's hope we can just keep going.”

A.J. Slattery, rider of Russian Vine trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room on a couple of occasions during this race.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Reverberation (GB) trained by J.J.Lambe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right all the way up the straight.

P.A. Harnett, rider of Fascinating Spirit trained by Thomas P.O'Connor, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared up when jumping from stalls.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sir Danilo (GB), at the request of trainer, F.Birrane, and reported the animal to be lame post race.

F.Birrane, trainer of Sir Danilo (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge pulled a muscle from his pelvis and sustained small fractures during this race.
