The Club Limerick Chase at Greenmount Park could have an appropriate winner with two locally trained horses, namely Dushybeag and Shanpallas looking strong contenders.

Michael Hourigan 's Dushybeag has been placed on three of his previous four visits to the course and arrives on the back of an impressive success at Clonmel in the middle of last month.

Shanpallas is officially rated 6Ib superior to Dushybeag, but we have not seen Charles Byrnes' charge since last January. The Hourigan yard took this last year with Whats Happening and they are taken to land the prize again.

The Live The Dream With Tote Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase sees top-weight Rohan's Pride bid to extend his winning sequence under Limerick jockey Andrew McNamara.

Robert Honner 's chestnut is set a stiff task by the assessor on his handicap debut, as he must shoulder 11st 10lb.

Henry de Bromhead's Elegant Statesman in the JP McManus colours looks mightily interesting coming back off a break.

A winner on his only previous visit to Limerick, the market is likely to give a good guide to his chance.

The other chase on the programme, the Limerickraces.ie (Mares) Beginners Chase, is probably best left to Silver Chief However, Our Ned is a smart mare from the point-to-point fields and she could easily reward an each-way investment.

In the concluding Greenmount Conference Centre Mares Flat Race, Rosygo is another potentially interesting recruit from the points, while Mandasini is an intriguing newcomer. She is certainly worth watching in the betting.
