Line Out (9/4), trained by John Kiely for the Lillingston family, took the concluding McHale Tiger Roll Beginners’ Chase to get off the mark at the seventh attempt over fences.

It was a good ride by Denis O’Regan, who had to fight his corner a couple of times on the final circuit to get racing room down the inner. Dromore Lad (10/1) went on after the second last, but the homebred Shantou gelding ran him down after the last to win by half a length, with Cuneo (10/3) third and the 2/1 favourite Aforementioned finishing in fifth place.

It was a seventh winner of the season for Denis O’Regan who said: “I jumped out very handy on him in Killarney (finished fourth) as well, and maybe it’s the ground (that made the difference) as it’s that little bit better today.

“He had the class and I’m delighted to get the job done.”
