The Tim Doyle trained Alwarda made it 13th time lucky at Dundalk today when landing the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap (div 1) under jockey Wayne Lordan.

The 44 rated daughter of Tamayuz had been in the prizemoney in five of her eight previous races and today got her head in front at the line when arriving under a well timed challenge to lead inside the final furlong and beat runner-up Suntory Times

Trainer Doyle later stated “she deserved that. Her last run here was a poor run, and we don't know why, but her run before that was a very good run.

“She finished behind Too Precious then, who has won three since, and Lady De Vesci who has won two since. We were a good third that evening.

“She's been running consistently all year and she deserves that. She won well tonight and we'll be back again.

“Wayne said she ground it out and kept at it all the way to the line. She handles the surface well.”
