More Madness (8/1) got up in the final strides to land the Get Ready For Christmas Beginners Chase under Adrian Heskin for Terence O’Brien. Sizing Solution was sent off the 5/4 favourite (7/4 this morning) for the two mile, two furlong contest, and he looked set for victory as he jumped the last with a good lead.

However he found little up the hill under Davy Russell, while More Madness responded well to pressure, getting up near the line to score by a head.

Sizing Solution had to settle for second, while Cheap As Chips (20/1) finished a neck back in third, the Philip Rothwell trained gelding also stayed on well on the run-in under Andrew Ring.

The victorious six-year-old son of Dr Massini won a point-to-point at Bandon in February of 2012, while he also has a bumper win at Limerick to his name.

Terence O’Brien said afterwards: “He is a tough horse. He was only beaten three lengths in a bumper by Buckers Bridge and it is a surprise he hadn’t won before now.

"I did fancy him a bit today. Adrian said he hated the ground. He should be well capable of winning over hurdles."

O'Brien also mentioned his stable star Farrells Fancy, who runs at Cork on Sunday, saying: "He might go for a tilt at the Paddy Power in Cheltenham, he should get in off 139 (currently rated 134)."
