With the defection of Roaring Bull the www.fairyhouse.ie Hurdle effectively became a match and it was the sole mare in the four horse line-up, Tell Me Annie (5/2) that came out on top.
The Declan Queally-trained and Andrew Lynch-ridden Tell Me Annie jumped better than '3s on' chance Go Another One and that helped her to a three and a quarter length success in the two and a half miler. Catch My Drift (100/1) took the third prize money of 1,750 Euros, thirty five lengths off the front pair.
Neil O'Mahony, brother of winning owner Eileen, said: "We thought she'd run well but she's only back in 11 weeks.
"We thought she was a good mare last year but she split her cannon bone after winning in Limerick and we had to pin it.
"We were hoping she'd come back but it was touch and go. This was her first run back.
"We were afraid of the handicapper here as we thought we might get a hike running against the good horses.
"When there was only five in it we said we'd take our chance. It was a great performance first time back.
"Fences is her game and she'll probably go for beginners chase, I'd presume.
"We're trying to make a broodmare out of her and she already has a foal on the ground.
"She was no good as a young mare and we covered her. Now she's after winning twice. There is a story behind every horse.
"The credit has to go to Declan Queally. We have a few horses with him and he's very dedicated to his job. He's a very good trainer."
Mr J.P. Berry, rider of Catch My Drift trained by J.A.Berry, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was flat out all the way.
