David Marnane’s Freescape made it third time lucky when winning the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden at Dundalk today, caused a 14/1 upset under jockey Oisin Orr.

The son of Cityscape today made good late headway and in the end proved a length and a quarter too strong to defeat well backed 1/1 favourite Cpatain Vancouver.

Afterwards Marnane stated “he is a lovely horse but is also a big green horse.

“To me he will keep improving as he's huge but he's well matured and he'll certainly be a very nice horse next year.

“If he gets a run he'll go for the Sales Race at the Curragh (Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes) - hopefully he will get a run.”
