Newcomer Cabin Hill came in as a reserve to the BoyleSports INH Flat Race at Wexford and made the most of his opportunity under Tom Reilly for the in-form John McConnell yard.

The Mahler six-year-old got there from an early mid-field sit to lead in the final hundred yards, keeping on well to see off odds-on favourite Robaddan by a length.

Last time Robaddan also finished second to a McConnell/Reilly winner, Lowtown Charlie on June 3rd.

"He had done a few nice bits at home with some of John's good horses so we kinda knew where we were going," said Reilly on the 20/1 victor.

"He was very green still. He is a six-year-old but is still very babyish. He is one maybe that could win a winners' bumper as well. I think there is still a lot of improvement in him.

"That's my fifth winner and the bosses horses are flying at the minute, he can do no wrong. I work half days with John and I'm there a long time now.

"I don't think himself and Lowtown Charlie (recent Listowel bumper winner) ever worked together but we kind of knew he'd be there or thereabouts today.

"John was going to run him in Downpatrick on Saturday but I said go to Wexford instead and I'm delighted that he did."

The Stewards interviewed Mr D.L. Queally, rider of Robaddan, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 1 raceday.
