Minella Cocooner eased home by a facile 10 lengths in the bumper at Kilbeggan to give Willie Mullins an across-the-card quad.

The 2/5 favourite was kept wide by Patrick Mullins and arrived on the scene two and a half furlongs out.

He soon tanked away from the filed, still on the bridle, and was merely pushed out inside the final furlong to win as he pleased. Bowtie took the runner-up berth at 150/1 and it was another 10 lengths back to Strike Of Lighting in third at 12/1.

Jockey Mullins said: “He’s an excellent pedigree by Flemensfirth and out of Askanna who was a good mare for Colin Bowe.

“I thought it would be easier to do 12st2lb here than 11st2lb down there (Saldier also won well in Listowel).

“He’s not particularly a summer horse and I think he’ll be very competitive in the winter. He’ll jump hurdles and fences — I don’t know whether I’ll manage to get a winners’ bumper out of him but I’ll ask Willie.

“He’s above average and it’s good for the owners who had Minella Encore and Mr Adjudicator but have had some bad luck lately.”

Mullins also had a winner in Kilbeggan through Ruaille Buaille while My Sister Sarah and Saldier scored on the level at Listowel.
