Trainer Johnny Murtagh and apprentice jockey Ben Coen combined for doubles at Gowran today as the pair completed the feat with Festina Plente in the Gowran Park Business Club Handicap.

The pair began by winning the opening divide of the Tickets On GowranPark.ie Apprentice Handicap with short-head winner Luminent and doubled their score an hour and a half later with Festina Plente, which beat Facethepuckout by a length and a half.

Afterwards Murtagh reported“she was knocking on the door, she had been second a couple of times.

“I was a bit worried about the ground because I told the lads at the start of the year that I thought she wanted really fast ground.

“Ryan who rides her out every day said I had to run her as she's in such good form. She was bouncing at home and she won well today. She was a filly that we always liked and it's only about time she got her turn.

“He said she was travelling really well and picked up really well. We're delighted with that.”
