Gavin Cromwell's Mutadaffeq overcame an untidy jump at the last to win the rated novice hurdle in Cork by a couple of lengths.

Jonathan Moore 's mount moved to the head of affairs in taking fashion before two out.

He had the chasing Popong in trouble coming to the last but went through the top of it, however, Moore soon got the revs up and the six-year-old prevailed at 7/1.

Popong had to settle for the runner-up berth at 6/1 with Hugh Morgan in the plate.

Jonathan Moore said: “He stayed it out well and he appreciated that lovely ground. He got a nice toe into the race and thankfully has gone on and won.

“He winged hurdles all the way along and just had a little look at the last but got safely to the other side.”
