My Sister Sarah resumed winning ways in the Big Picture Communications Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Paul Townend 's mount took closer order after four out in the pursuit of Western Victory and closed right up to challenge at the penultimate obstacle.

She soon eased past that rival and went on coming to the last. Western Victory wasn't quite cooked, though, as she rallied to good effect and kept My Sister Sarah more than honest on the run-in.

My Sister Sarah, the 4/7 favourite, passed the post a length ahead of the 4/1 chance Western Victory.

My Sister Sarah is now three from four having finished runner-up in a novice hurdle at this track in November.

Willie Mullins said: “She made hard work of it but I think she just had a very hard race the last day and she possibly remembered it a bit. She’s still learning and I think she’s still improving.

“The second is a good mare too and they have gone quite a bit clear of the rest.”
