Favourite backers owe their closing race gains at Killarney to Jamie Codd as he got the Michael Butler-trained Optical Confusion home in front in the ML Lynch Civil Engineering INH Flat Race.

Champion amateur Codd put Patrick Mullins into a pocket on Koroleva early in the straight.

That forced Mullins to come the outer on the first-time daughter of King's Theatre, and he also wasn't helped by losing his whip over a furlong out.

Try as she might Koroleva couldn't reel in Optical Confusion who clung on by a neck. All Good Things had every chance and he finished a length and a half back in third.

"The line came just in time but his two bumper runs were plenty good enough to win a bumper," said Codd.

"He's a huge big horse and has taken time to come to hand."
