Four Irish-trained fillies lined up for the Listed Unibet Proudly Supports “Racing Is Everyone’s Sport” Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle and they duly filled the first four places as Sea Sessions landed the spoils.
Ross O’Sullivan’s charge was sent off an 8/1 chance and collared Calvados close home to score by two and a quarter lengths in the hands of Johnny Burke.
Gavin Cromwell's White Pepper, the 6/4 favourite, was a further length and a quarter back in third with Six Feet Apart in fourth.
“That’s my first Aintree winner. We had Call It Magic run a cracker in the Becher and Katie (Walsh, O’Sullivan’s wife) rode Baie Des Iles in the National for us,” said O’Sullivan.
“This filly is tough. She’d finished second in two goodish races in Ireland and conditions weren’t going to be a problem to her.
“We came over looking to nick third to get some black type, so to win is a dream. The owners are from around here so love coming over and it would be great to be back over here in March or April.”
