John McConnell looks to have a smart prospect on his hands, as his Go Another One made it two from two on the racecourse, taking the Killarney Welcomes Bordeaux Racecourse (Pro/Am) Flat Race in convincing fashion.

Second for Colin Motherway in a point-to-point at Dawstown in May, the son of Stowaway was then bought by McConnell for £45,000 at Tattersalls.

He ran out an easy seventeen length winner on his racecourse debut at Market Rasen last month, and he was sent off a 5/2 chance to follow-up today.

Settled in mid-division by Jamie Codd, he was fourth with a circuit to race as Rainy Day Dylan attempted to make all.

The winner improved to the front with five furlongs to race, as the saddle appeared to slip on Rainy Day Dylan who was later pulled up.

Go Another One went a few lengths clear approaching the straight, and he maintained that advantage all the way to the line, scoring by six and a half lengths.

Galway Festival winner Electric Concorde (9/4) finished second under Finian Maguire for Jim Culloty, while the well-backed favourite Arbor Des Champs (7/2 this morning and from 2's to 7/4 on-course) was a further twenty-seven lengths back in third under Patrick Mullins for his cousin Emmet.

John McConnell said afterwards: "I was worried about the going coming down but I walked the track and in fairness to Killarney it's beautiful ground. He's only a four-year-old, and I got him in great nick from Colin Motherway.

"He won well at Market Rasen, and we brought him here to really test him. The dream is still alive! He might go for another bumper or we could give him a break. Either way I don't think he will go over hurdles until next May.

"I'd like to thank all the lads in the yard as they put a lot of work in and we haven't had the greatest of years."

The winner is a half-brother to Sharp Rise who has won eight times in the UK, while the Henry De Bromhead trained Go Forty Go is another half-brother.

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Rainy Day Dylan, trained by S. Donohoe, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Mr L.J. McGuinness, rider of Rainy Day Dylan trained by S. Donohoe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped and he pulled his mount up thereafter.
