Fifteen horses will line up for Saturday's first Classic of the British season at Newmarket with the unbeaten Pinatubo the star attraction.

The Godolphin owned colt was most impressive last season notching up six straight victories including a demolition job of the opposition in the Group 1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes at the Curragh in September which he won by nine lengths.

Ending last season the highest rated juvenile in a quarter of a century the Charlie Appleby trained son of Shamaradal has been the bookmakers' odd-on favourite for the 2000 Guineas since betting opened on the event.

As Appleby looks to add the 2000 Guineas to his list of training achievements, which include the 2018 Epsom Derby with Masar, chief rival Aidan O'Brien has already won ten renewals of the one mile event and sends a four-strong raiding party to take on Pinatubo.

O'Brien who has won the race for the last three years runs Arizona, New World Tapestry, Royal Dornock and Wichita.

Ryan Moore will partner main stable hope Arizona with Frankie Dettori on Wichita. Adam Kirby rides New World Tapestry and Tom Marquand comes in for the spin on Royal Dornock
