Pinatubo remains a strong favourite for this afternoon’s Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and is generally a 4/5 chance for the opening classic of the UK season.

Arizona appeared the pick of Aidan O’Brien’s four runners with stable jockey Ryan Moore aboard. However, the No Nay Never colt is friendless drifting out to 10/1 as stablemate Wichita is now more fancied at a best priced 8/1.

Kameko, winner of the Group 1 Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes on the all-weather at Newcastle last autumn, is vying for second favouritism at 9/1.

The William Haggas-trained Aplomb is all the rage for the opening Betfair Exchange-sponsored sprint handicap at Newmarket (1.15pm) and is now 3/1 favourite from earlier quotes of 13/2.

Far Above and Shades Of Blue are attracting plenty of support at the head of the market for the Group 3 Palace House Stakes (1.50pm), while Terebellum (Dahlia Stakes at 2.25) and Waldkonig (Newmarket Stakes at 3pm) are also strong favourites in other races shown on ITV this afternoon.
