Tony Martin completed a remarkable week at Galway when Pyromaniac gave him his sixth success of the festival in the Trappers Inn Handicap.

The 5/2 favourite travelled smoothly into contention heading for home under Fran Berry and was driven into the lead inside the final furlong.

The Invincible Spirit gelding was all out in the closing stages, however, as Pivot Bridge pressed hard and pushed him to a short-head at the line.

“He battled on well and it was a good performance from horse and jockey,” said Martin.

“I probably pulled him out too quick before at Fairyhouse (6th on last Flat run). The ground helped today.

“He's had a run over hurdles and he'll probably mix it between the two.”

It was a double on the card for Martin after the success of Ted Veale in the beginners chase earlier on the card.
