"She showed a little bit last year but takes things far too easy," said Chris Hayes after he came out on top aboard Queen Rabab (5/1 joint favourite) in a very tight three way go for the C & C Gleeson Handicap at Dundalk.
Amazingly just a nose and the same split Queen Rabab, Innamorare and Rockfish (the other market-leader) with small margins back to the fourth, fifth and sixth as well in the mile contest.
"It was a good call by Fozzy (Stack, winning trainer) to put the cheek-pieces on. He thought they might help me first time in a handicap and they did," elaborated Hayes.
"She travelled really nice. They didn't go that quick and she ground it out. She had a good look around and it was nice to get her up on the line."
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Namazee (USA) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared up in the stalls and in running was hampered in the early part of this race.
S. Foley, rider of That's My Girl trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he had to check his mount in the straight but was beaten at the time.
