Rain Or Shine (8/1) came from last to win division 2 of the 45-65 rated &f handicap, giving Shane Foley a double on the card.

As in the first heat, there was plenty of pace on and the eventual winner was held up out the back before taking closer order entering the straight.

She swept down the outer to lead over 1f out, and held the challlenge of Pulsating who’d got a dream run up the rail.

The daughter of Zoffany, trained by Charles O’Brien, scored by half a length on her to gain a first career win on her tenth start.

She’d run respectably in a few maidens to start off from a mark of 60 in handicaps, but had come down to a rating of 46 here. She had shown up well for a long way on her first run since October at Gowran a fortnight ago.

11/4 favourite Crystal Dawn didn’t have the clearest of passages in the straight and finished fourth.

“They went very fast so I took my time and rode her to run well. They stopped in front of her but in fairness to her she stuck her head out,” said winning rider Foley.

“She was raw. She had a couple of okay run in maidens so running off that basement mark you'd like to think she should be winning something like that. She could win again.”
