Paul Townend, out of action for five weeks with an injured ankle, recorded four wins from as many rides on his return to the track as Up For Review made it a 36/1 shared four-timer with trainer Willie Mullins at Gowran Park by readily landing prohibitive odds in the Irish Machinery Auctions Beginners Chase.

The Presenting gelding was himself sidelined for nearly two years before making a promising reappearance here last month, and took advantage of a good opportunity in this 2m4f event.

The 1/5 favourite was kept wide throughout by Townend on this very testing heavy ground, and only had Fire In His Eyes for company as the pair drew clear from an early stage.

Up For Review easily stretched clear after three out to record a 15 lengths verdict over Fire In His Eyes, while Cowboy Des Long kept on to finish another seven and a half lengths adrift in third.

Mullins said, “It's a nice day for Paul. We'll probably look at around that trip for him again and we might look at Fairyhouse.

“He goes through that ground but I think he'll handle better ground as well. With his style of running he'd handle better ground and probably a longer trip.

“It's nice to see the horses running like that and the two guys are back now full of confidence. What more could we ask for.”
