Patrick Prendergast expressed his pride as Skitter Scatter was named Top Two Year Old Filly at the prestigious Cartier Awards in London.

The daughter of Scat Daddy progressed through the ranks to culminate a brilliant season with victory in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh after taking races at Group Three and Two level along the way.

Connections now have Classic aspirations but Skitter Scatter is already a horse Prendergast will never forget.

“She’s a special filly. She’s kept on improving and kept on surprising me. It’s been a great journey,” the Curragh handler told Racing UK.

“I didn’t think she was a Group One filly. I told the owners early on I thought she was a stakes filly, but the day she won the Debutante I saw how much she enjoyed the step up in trip for a fast filly, then I started to think that we were a live one in a Group One.

“As a trainer it’s your job to worry, I often say that, and she’s got to train on but it looks like she’s grown a little bit and she’s wintering well. I’m full of hope.”
