Cathal Landers completed a quick double at Thurles today when Scheu Time ran out an easy winner of the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle.

James Nash 's charge was a solid 6/4 favourite for the two-mile contest and was bounced out in front from flag fall.

The Arakan gelding skipped clear from One First Cut after the second last and Landers was easing down on the run-in to record a six-and-a-half length success.

The winner was not scoring out of turn having been runner-up on four occasions before today. He had been fourth to Call A Cab over hurdles on his most recent outing at Punchestown.

"I couldn't have dreamt it would have taken him that long to win his maiden as he always had an easy way of doing things. It was bad going not to win a bumper with him but maybe he's just a hurdler,” said Nash.

"He ran very well the first day (over hurdles) at Catterick as it turns out, as the winner won a Grade 3 race afterwards and the fourth horse also won subsequently. Today was a soft race but he could do no more than he did and he jumped great.

"He wants better ground and we'll step him up in trip and I hope stepping him up in trip will improve him.

“The lads (J&T Partnership) would love to go to Aintree with him as they go there every year so we'll put him in the 2m4f handicap the first day and see what handicap mark he gets before making our minds up."
