Hugh Morgan recorded his second career success, as he guided Babbling Stream to victory in the Major William Brownlow Memorial Rated Hurdle.

The Henry de Bromhead trained seven-year-old provided Morgan with his first win at Bellewstown last month, and he since finished fourth to Bargy Lady at Killarney.

Sent off at 8/1 this afternoon, the John O'Byrne owned seven-year-old raced in second, and made a slight mistake four out.

He improved to lead after the second last, and kept on well under pressure on the run-in, going on to score by three and three parts of a length.

The front-running Go Another One (10/3) finished second under Donal McInerney for John McConnell, while the 6/4 favourite Cartwright was a disappointing fifth.

Morgan, who is from Kilmacow in Co Kilkenny, said: "He got my first winner on the board and he was brilliant there today. He was jumping well so that's why I sent him on.

"It's great especially for Mr O'Byrne (owner) as he's a close friend of my family and I know him well.

"Yeah he did (win snug). To be honest I wasn't really looking behind. I was just trying to keep going."

STEWARDS REPORTS

D.N. Russell, rider of Cartwright (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount didn't handle the track and made a mistake at the last.

The Stewards interviewed D.J. McInerney, rider of Go Another One, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. McInerney was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) in that he used his whip with excessive force and frequency, and having considered his previous record in this regard suspended him for four racedays.
