Queenship rocketed home to land the Listed Navigation Stakes in the manner of a progressive filly.

Joseph O'Brien 's three-year-old filly got the split in the final furlong and surged through it. She then readily opened up with 100 yards to travel.

The 7/1 chance hit the line a comfortable half a length up on strong-finishing April Showers (16/1). Oodnadatta was the same distance back in third at 11/2.

"It was good of Joseph to leave Mikey (Sheehy) on her as he wasn't able to use his 5lbs claim and it is Mikey's first Listed winner," said assistant trainer Brendan Powell.

"I thought she wouldn't get out but the gaps came and she won nicely.

"She had been off for a while, nothing was wrong with her but we were basically waiting for this ground. She has got black-type now and has won three out of four.

"She is a tall filly, is sparsely made and I'm sure between now and the end of the season I'm sure Joseph will be looking for more black-type."

Queenship was last seen winning a fillies' handicap at Gowran Park in April.
